Public Service Commission

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has inaugurated Disability Mainstreaming Committee, marking a significant milestone in advancing inclusive governance in Kenya.

Speaking during the launch at Commission House on 19th September 2025, Commissioner Harun Hassan said the committee will drive efforts to integrate disability inclusion within PSC operations and across the wider public service.

“This committee is both the conscience of the Commission and a technical advisory engine that will guide towards inclusive governance,” he said.

Committee Chairperson Dr. Philemon Kiprono underscored the legal and moral imperative of disability inclusion, noting that public institutions must reflect the diversity of the people they serve.

“The law is very clear, we must embrace every aspect of humanity in the public service, including the full inclusion and participation of persons with disabilities,” Dr. Kiprono stated.

The committee is expected to oversee fair recruitment processes, inclusive workplace policies, and equitable representation of persons with disabilities across all levels of public service.
