The Public Service Commission (PSC) begun sensitization forum to prepare public institutions for the upcoming evaluation on compliance with national values and principles, as outlined in the Constitution.
The forum, which commenced on 26th August 2025 at the Social Health Authority auditorium in Nairobi, brings together officials from a wide range of public institutions, including Ministries, State Departments, Agencies (MDAs), Constitutional Commissions, Independent Offices, State Corporations, SAGAs, Public Universities, and TVET institutions.
This initiative is part of the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that public organizations understand their roles in promoting and upholding the values and principles set out in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution, and the Public Service (Values and Principles) Act, 2015.
The sensitization sessions are designed to:
-Clarify timelines for the 2024/25 evaluation as per the approved roadmap,
-Reflect on challenges and lessons learned during the 2023/24 reporting cycle,
-Pilot the new evaluation questionnaire,
-Train officials on the online data collection tool,
-Guide institutions on data templates and submission requirements, and
-Outline the way forward for the current reporting year.
Speaking during the forum, Director of Values and Ethics at the PSC, Mr Wesley Kipng’etich emphasized the importance of the sensitization process.
“In order to adequately prepare institutions for this critical constitutional obligation, the roadmap for preparation of the Report requires that evaluation respondents be sensitized. It is in line with our mandate to promote, monitor, and report to the President and Parliament on the extent of compliance with the values and principles in public service,” he stated.
He added that by fostering awareness and building capacity among evaluation respondents, the Commission hopes to strengthen the culture of accountability, integrity, and citizen-centered service across all public sector institutions.
As the 2024/25 reporting cycle begins, PSC encourages all public institutions to actively participate in the process and uphold the highest standards of public service delivery.
