Public Service Commission (PSC) has hosted a high-level delegation from the Department of Human Resource Management and Development of the Republic of Malawi, on a study visit aimed at strengthening collaboration in human resource management and governance. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during the opening session on 28th August 2025 at Commission House, PSC Secretary and CEO, Mr. Paul Famba, underscored the importance of peer learning in driving public service excellence across Africa.\u201cYour presence here today is testament to the spirit of African cooperation. It reflects our shared commitment to a common goal: building a public service that is professional, ethical, and relentlessly focused on serving our citizens,\u201d said Mr. Famba<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
The Commission Secretary emphasized that the visit was not a one-way learning engagement but an opportunity for both countries to exchange ideas and experiences on human resource management best practices. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
On his part, the Principal Secretary for Human Resource Management, Republic of Malawi, Mr. Ian Chingwalu, who led the delegation, commended PSC for its leadership in public sector transformation. He noted that Malawi had recently launched a roadmap for reforms to achieve a results-oriented and citizen-focused public service. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOur visit to PSC was recommended by the Chandler Institute, which highlighted the Commission\u2019s exemplary footprint in Africa on matters of public sector reforms,\u201d he said. <\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
The delegation was taken through PSC\u2019s performance management systems, staff appraisal processes, and HR data management by PSC\u2019s technical team led by Deputy Commission Secretary (Performance), Dr. Sylvester Obong\u2019o. Also present in the session were Senior management officers from PSC and members of the Malawian delegation. Performance Management systems, Staff Appraisal systems and HR data management.<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
