Anthony Muchiri urges select panel for IPOA Chairperson and Members to adhere to the constitutional framework"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Public Service Commission Chairperson Amb. Anthony Muchiri has challenged the select panel for the Chairperson and Members of&nbsp; Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) to adhere to the constitutional guidelines when executing the critical assignment. Amb. Muchiri said this during the inaugural meeting of the select panel and the PSC board at the Commission House today 10th September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c In your search for suitable nominees, the Constitution, particularly the values and principles prescribed in Articles 10 and 232, and the law obligates you to undertake your assignment with, amongst other things, dedication, integrity, and fairness,\u201d said Mr. Muchiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While congratulating the 6-member select panel on the appointment, the PSC Chairperson reminded them of the weight of the task ahead. He noted that the Select Panel comes at a time when IPOA is under public scrutiny and should ensure candidates selected inspire public confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c It is essential that the Selection Panel remains committed to the principles of meritocracy and inclusivity throughout this process.&nbsp; At the end of the exercise, the names you forward to H.E. the President should reflect the face of Kenya,\u201d said Amb. Muchiri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Commission chair also assured the select panel of PSC\u2019s support throughout the exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On his part, the select panel Chairperson Mr. Arthur Osiya assured Kenyans of a fair process inline with constitutional requirements. The select panel for recruitment of IPOA Chairperson and Members was appointed by the President through a Gazette Notice No.10887 of 28th August 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in attendance were select panel members: Dr. Monic Wanjiu Muriu, Hon. (Rtd)Justice Msagha Mbogholi, Dr.Raymond Nyeris and Ms. Caroline Naikena Lentupuru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Others were PSC Commissioner, Dr.Mary Mwiandi, Commission Secretary Paul Famba and members of secretariat.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Public Service Commission Chairperson Amb.
